Hi,

I intend to study the application of " industrial excess heat" and "renewable energy sources" in supply of 4th generation of district heating systems. To do so, I am advised to learn Modelica. Once I started learning about this programming language, I noticed that there should be knowledge about tools like Dymola. My questions are as follow:

1- What are the differences between Modelica and Dymola? Are these two complementary or learning Modelica does not necessarily need Dymola? If they are complementary, can I start learning them in parallel?

2- According to the Modelica website, there are three versions of it i.e. official release, stable development and nightly build. Which one suits my conditions?

Thank you in advance for your helpful answers.

Kind regards,
