I bought a Hg/HgO reference electrode. It is fitted with a porous polytetrafluoroethylene at the bottom. When I received it, I saw liquid coming out of it. I have never seen anything like this with other reference electrode. But company tells that its normal to have seepage.
Anyone can guide me.

From which company did you purchase the Hg/HgO electrode?
If you bought the Hg/HgO electrode from a local vendor, that leakage might be 1 M NaOH solution.
When you use the Hg/HgO electrode as a reference in the three-electrode cell, I recommend you change the internal solution of the Hg/HgO electrode with an aqueous solution which is the same solution you use as the electrolyte solution in your cell.
By doing so, you can prevent the establishment of an unwanted liquid junction potential at the frit (i.e., porous polytetrafluoroethylene).
To check whether your electrode is working fine or not, you can check your Hg/HgO electrode potential using the SCE (or any other reference electrodes). We recently reported the experimental procedure:
