Lab experience in using 16s rRNA gene primer design for bacterial ID?

I am currently working on identification of Pseudoalteromonas bacterial species from marine sources and I am using the primer designs indicated in the journal: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1987160. I am going to use the primer pair fD1 and rD1 for purple bacteria and relatives. Anyone who can share experience in using this primer design by Weisburg and colleagues?
