Infectious ecology is a new line of research. In a clear way, it was formulated in 2017. In 2018, some works were carried out that showed the significance and real novelty of this scientific approach. On its basis, new theoretical interpretations of a whole range of infectious diseases can be given.
The case of KDD is not unique. There are a considerable number of infectious novelties that are difficult to understand in the dominant scientific terms. An example would be ebola. In the infectious ecology, an attempt is made to re-state the problem and to find a new solution for the KDD.
The basic idea is that we are dealing with another manifestation of the discrete activation of the pathogenic properties of microorganisms. As in many other cases, the cause is a change in soil geochemistry. That it is a pretext for the manifestation of the pathogenic properties of Phytophthora agathidicida. This is usually associated with agriculture and anthropogenic changes.

If the hypothesis regarding the transfer of Phytophthora agathidicida is true and the whole problem is only in the diffusion process, then such trees should die first. The probability of their survival is completely insignificant. Such cases need to be investigated in detail!
It is extremely important to consider the experience of NGS (nanogeoscience) to refine the methodology for studying such cases. We can go back to the works of Mark Purdey. In his case, the main subject of the study was BSE. It was a problem of a different region and time. But the essence has remained approximately the same. There was some kind of anthropogenic interference with nature. The result was a change in the infectious situation. The early death of Mark Purdey did not allow the study to be conducted properly. Further, the topic was simply silenced (closed). But the approach has the right to exist. Chemical intervention on the part of people leads to a discrete activation of the pathogenic properties of certain microorganisms. There is no doubt about it.
For a scientific understanding of KDD, it is necessary to once again review the theory and methodology. From the methodological point of view, the works of the American professor Vitaly Vodyanoy are extremely important. I will not retell them. Just a link.

It is clear that the work of Vitaly Vodyanoy is not only one approach. They should be associated with other approaches within the framework of nanogeoscience.
Here we come to such methodological innovations as:

- Nanocartography
They will allow to correctly investigate the geography of microorganisms and the manifestations of pathogenic properties. They are allowing conduct systematic studies on such environments.
It should be understood that these new items are not fully developed. This is only the initial work. However, it is much better than just to clean shoes and wait for what comes of it. It may not work. The natural process will go as it goes now.
