I want to target particular protein/peptide/enzyme by cell culture methods. I would also like to know screening methods for cell cultures to analyse and diagnose the drug effect on particular mechanism.
If you let your cells grow on glass cover slips, then the usual staining methods for amyloid can be used: the famous "apple-green birefringence" of Congo red as well as fluorescence of Thioflavin S or T. Fluorescence may be not only more sensitive, but also easier to adapt to modern methods like cell sorting.
Amyloid formation is initially (fortunately) a slow process, you may have to jump-start with appropriate seeds.
