I have isolated yeast-like fungi from hot springs. After the ITS characterization, the closest similarity showed only 89%. I hope its a new genus/species. Now I have to prove that fungi are new species. What are the steps I need to follow:
1. Do I need any other characterization other than ITS?
2. Do I need to submit that culture to any collection center prior to publishing?
3. What are the other methodologies that I need to follow?
Can any mycologists help me out??

LSU is required for yeast-like fungi. Sequences must be deposited. Phylogenetic analyses must be performed.
Cultures must be deposited in at least two repositories on two continents.
Physiological characteristics (growth and fermentation on various media and culturing conditions must be performed).
