Yes, of course. We even ask our students to watch as many films as they can to improve all language skills for our students. Video clips help students to be familiar eith the way native speakers use the language. Through listening practice, repetition and imitation the learners can master language.
It depends on novel whether it become the part of inspiration &in this line any movie from the novel which is likely that students may get attracted to view the movie .
If the students are interested in the movie of any of their likings they are disturbing there valuable time of their study and in this way they may their education .

It depends on the movie. If the movie is, say, a pedagogical movie, then it is likely that it motivate students to learn. I am thinking of a movie that is appropriate to students' age and contains, for example, prosocial episodes. There many movies of this type. In contradistinction, if the movie is a non-pedagocial movie and, for example, it contains violence and other undesirable behaviors it is likely that the focal movie is not a good movie to motivate students' learning. In principle, any movie that shows the true, the good or the beautiful is worth watching. Of course, teachers should take into account the quality of the movie and well its suitability to students' age.

it doesn't allow the student to deeply reflect on the novel. A two hours movie can not fully capture a narration of 300 pages. Film adaptations of novels allow you to get a quick summary of a narration in a short time. It also allows you to do a comparative study between the two.

Yes, it does. I remember when I was an undergrad, our literature professor asked as to write a reflection on 'Animal Farm'. I was able to find the animated version, which I really enjoyed watching. Furthermore, it really helped me comprehend the novella.
The best teaching strategy is "story-telling" strategy as I try to use it. Make your lesson sounds like if students are watching a movie. To do this; I use many analogies and I start the lesson with a story that happaned to me or a story that I know. In order to folow you; you should be able to create pictures in the mind of the students.
