Hi everybody, I am simulating a nano-beam cavity by COMSOL. Please see the attachments for the structure of the cavity. Since, I have limited RAM and CPU, I cannot simulate the whole device. For TE polarization for which the cavity has some resonant modes, I use perfect electric conductor (PEC) condition along the horizontal line passing through the cavity. The results match well with those reported in the paper. My main concern is about TM polarization for which there is not any resonant mode. I wonder if I use perfect magnetic conductor (PMC) as a boundary condition along the same horizontal line, the results are valid or not. Since, there is not any resonant mode for TM, I guess there may be some scattering when the mode approaches the holes and so any symmetry may be violated. I’d be happy to know your opinions. Thanks in advance. Zeinab
