Hi, I searched vaccination study to know which MLD50 is suitable for influenza virus study in pubmed. But why every vaccination and challenge conditions are different?
Is there no guideline or whatever by WHO or CDC etc...? because they have really broad virus challenge dose.
Anybody help me please.
The general protocol for vaccination is urgent one for such novel disease starting people working in hospitals,chronic dieases,which means priourity ,then,police,army.......so.on.
The question is not clear. It seems that you are asking for a protocol to determine 50% lethality end point for challenge viruses, toxins, etc. I am not sure if you are asking for 50% efficacy end points for vaccines.
There are general principles in such protocols, but the individual study depends upon a number of factors, including lethality of the virus/toxin to the host (cells, animals, eggs, etc.), variability of the host, purity of the challenge virus in terms of live, inactivated and ghost particles. The challenge dose in protection studies depends upon the factors mentioned above.
If you could explain what exactly you are trying to do, a protocol could be suggested.
