I am currently doing some experiments using MRC-5 fibroblasts expressing telomerase and would like to get a control, in order to separate the function of telomerase in elongating telomeres and its other functions (if there is any!). Therefore, I was plannning to induce/activate alternative lengthening of telomeres pathway by doing some KD/KO in genes involved in ALT-repression. However, looking at the current literature, it seems that there are not enough information in order to be able to do this, unless I am missing some important papers. Does anyone know if this is possible and would you be able to share the method? Thanks a lot!
