I am looking for a detailed manual that one can follow as a self-teaching guide for measuring nematode morphometric parameters. Similar to architectural blueprints use in constructing buildings.
Hello Lawrence; I had problems like this when I first started studying ants. At that time there was no manual like what you are looking for. I made my own by carefully reading the materials and methods of the papers I was reading. It took a while and requires some backtracking. You may have to do something similar. Good luck and be patient, Jim Des Lauriers
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3547334/. Hope it help. I used this method to take photo of nematode and used ImageJ for morphometric parameters. You can read some of my paper to get the reference of ImageJ.
It could be possible through reading text books of morphometrics and edited books of the subject to learn how morphometricians treated and found solutions to their problems (e.g. self-learning).
(the book "Plant Nematology" 2nd Edition Fig. 1.12 by Maurice Moens and Roland N. Perry) has a section with detailed diagrams on "How to take the basic measurements of a nematode."
