I would like to know if there is any way to induce milk allergy in animal model.
I have made certain products made out of a milk obtained from certain nuts and seeds. I would like to prove it as a substitute for people suffering from milk allergy as my products does not contain casein. Kindly suggest me some methods to prove it invivo

i think milk allergy is a food allergy is to seek the immune response to one of the components of milk per animal (commonly Aswan protein alpha-casein in cow's milk) the establishment of. This type of allergy can cause anaphylaxis. Milk allergy and lactose intolerance is different.so i think Maybe you could HPLC method Separate the casein from milk, but only in the laboratory method.

Hi Getha, I don't know a systematic model to create such an allergy with 100% chance but I can propose the following way for inducing allergy to caseins. In young animals, just after birth, the intestinal barrier is not fully functional to permit Ig from colostrum to transfer to young blood and confer passive immunity. If you give concentrate of casein during the first 2 days (with possible simultaneous immunostimulation), you have a chance of inducing sensibilisation. After One month, using single iv bolus of caseinate could reactivate memmory and induce immune response and you can verify the king of response. To use immunostimulator can increase this answer at the level of anaphylaxis but not systematically.In each case it is easy to verify casein response and to compare to other proteins responses.
But .....I think that you would developp a method that will give you all the time, the good results for you ans is not necessary.
It is sure that if you have an allergy to milk protein, any protein replacer for this milk could definitively, or for a time, overcome the problem and permit to produce milk replacer with lack of deleterious allergy. But in milk allergy ,you could find a lot of reactions against caseins, others major (alpha lactalbumine, beta globulines) or minor proteins and also against peptides. Human problem of milk allergy is a world ! It is well known that even the replacement of bovine casein to goat one by example can often overcome the problem...but sometimes not at all for 2 reasons: first you could always find in an exogenous protein an aminoacid sequence or structure that fit with a casein one and also induce allergy dur to cross reactions; Second, very often when the organism is able to develop allergy against one allergen, it is often able to develop other allergy with time..and in some months or years, you could have new allergy against your seed or nut proteins. Thus for me it is not necessary to prove the "beneficial" effect of your milk replacer because it is evident in immunoogy: change of immunoreactive protein by another one, do not induce any immune response...at leat during the time needed for your body to accept the replacer proteins or to reject it and it is well known that some plant proteins are often better allergen than animal ones!
I think that your better way to promote our replacer/seed-nut proteins is first to verify their allergen power and some test exists for that.
