I am working on the phara quantification of plant substance, facing some experimental aspect , alike no availability of animal cell culture setup. So, anticancer assay aspect completely non in touch, I want to know any such type of way or method for anticancer assay without using animal system or cell line or MTT assay.
I am working on the pharma evaluation screening of Phyto materials. I am facing some experimental step, like no availability of the animal laboratory.

I suggest you use assays for the targets of anti-cancer drugs. There are highly targeted proteins and enzymes those of which are either highly expressed or suppressed in tumor cells. Or some of the target proteins manipulate DNA to induce very high amount of DNA damage to induce cell death pathways. Target examples are DNA topoisomerases, microtubule depolymerization agents, Histone deacetylases or Histone acetylases, lots of kinases etc.
My other suggestion is mutagenic/anti-mutagenic or antioxidant properties of the extract by bacterial short term tests. These properties are also very important for cancer occurrence and prevention.

But sometimes I felt, lack an animal cell line or animal system for the assay to anticancerous study. welcome to the world of plant research. i agree with madam. before that a oecd approved methods in vitro techniques will help in prediction of the cytotoxicity. the following article will give the model for your experiment. this kind of model of experiments explain the potentiality of the plants and phyto chemicals and u can decide on the models as madam explained.

What is the nature of Allium cepa genomatic , is it similar to human chromosome or we deal other cancer study model, I fasinated to work toward in Cancer biology, here lab facility not sufficient, In fact, my native zone rich for biodiversity , but completely unexplored, It is a good step for development to against cancer, I am really will be gratitude, for getting to suggestion or any ideas , I will be still waiting positive response,
the model is not allium cepa. the mechanism of cell division and prevention as like in the cancer cell division. u read first the cancer cell division, it will help in understanding the mechanism how the invitro methods follows. one model is allium cepa. u can even use sprouts for the same purpsose.
