I am looking for reliable and proven methods or expressions for determining the plastic hinge length of the complex core wall (C-shaped with several shafts and internal shear walls). I am using equations mostly applicable to rectangular and C-shaped walls such as Priestley, Calvi and Kowalsky (2007). I am not getting the expected results. For example, on using these equations, the displacement capacity is not improving on increasing the thickness of the wall and with an increase of the reinforcement amounts (keeping the length of walls the same).

You can find some guidelines in ASCE41-17 to model the shear walls using the concentrated plastic hinge approach, but these recommendations are limited to planar shear walls only. As far as I know, there is no reliable formulation to calculate the plastic hinge length of core walls other than those you mentioned.
