The pathogen Colletotrichum lagenarium, along with other similar fungi, causes anthracnose in mirlitons (chayote) in the United States. Most growers have found that existing fungicides are ineffective as a preventative. While there is significant research on post-harvest anthracnose, I have not found any on pre-harvest anthracnose. If there is no scientific research, do you know of any chayote growers who have had anecdotal success with a particular fungicide?
