Prof. Markku S. Hannula (Finland - I think) has been doing some work on gaze tracking during mathematics classes. He gave a very interesting presentation at a Deakin University Symposium where he outline a research project using "mobile gaze tracking to record student visual attention during mathematics lessons" in a school setting.
As I remember, there were some presentations about visual attention and eye tracking at the 5th International Conference on Traffic and Transport Psychology in 2012. Maybe you can search the abstract book, follow this link: http://www.icttp2012.com/images/stories/icttp_2012_abstract_book.pdf
At least the following researchers presented in this topic, maybe you can find some publications from them:
- Lehtonen, E., Lappi, O., & Summala, H. from Traffic Research Unit, University of Helsinki, Finland.
- Lenné, M., Beanland, V.B., & Underwood, G. from Monash University Accident Research Centre, Australia
