There still remains a debate that whether the bacterial melanin is eumelanin or heterogenous allomelanin. But I have not seen any reports on Pheomelanin (red melanin) producing microbes. I have trying for the production in my organisms. But it is not working. Do anyone have gone through any papers on pheomelanin from bacteria? Please let me know.

Papers you had refereed deals with Pyomelanin (a type of Allomelanin) which is produced mainly by Pseudomonads using homogentisic acid pathway.My question is on red melanin Pheomelanin (predominant pigment among Caucasians) .I have not gone through any reports yet on pheomelanin from bacteria.
A few papers I have come across show pheomelanin in reptiles but nothing outside the animal kingdom and as far as I know, there is not great evidence for pheomelanin outside birds and mammals.
Did you happen to find any papers supporting pheomelanin outside of these two classes by any chance as I would be interested myself.

I have tried to induce pheomelanin in couple of bacterial species.
But I failed to get any producing one.Why it is so i don't know.
By this question I was just inquired whether any of us have got it

In above paper they are saying only that they had supplemented their media with L cysteine and they got pheomelanin. They have not confirmed it is pheomelanin or not.
I too had supplemented L cysteine and gone for elemental analysis .But the sulfur content of melanin remained as it is in eumelanin.I too have increased cysteine concentration to extreme levels also.
I am for the first time seeing the paper you had provided.
