Research in behavioural science like anthropology, sociology and psychology has provided the subject matter for human resource development. Behavioural science era led to the development of new techniques of motivation and leadership, e.g., job enrichment, employee participation, two way communication and management by objectives. Abraham Maslow, Doulas Mergor, Fedrick Herzberg, Rensis Likert and others made significant contributions to the development of the behavioural science approach to the study of management.
