I'm looking for recent information (literature) on effects of nanoparticle on soil properties and on its microbial community. Plz share your information. I'll be thankful to you.
Yes, we are working on the effect of foliage application of bio synthesized nano-particles on microbial community, microbial activity and soil properties especially under arid environments. Our results from last five years of research showed the recommended doses of application of nano-nutrients ( P-40 ppm, Zn-10 ppm, Mg-20 ppm, Fe-30 ppm etc), there was appreciable improvement in rhizosphere microbial activities (dehydrogenase, esterase), as well as individual microbial population (fungi, bacteria, actinobacteria) under different crops. But there was no significant changes in physico-chemical properties of the soils. Only in our recent studies with the application of 80ppm of nano-N we are getting marginal improvement in soil organic matter content but the results has to reconfirm.
Though there is not much literature and thorough detailed studies on the "effect of effects of nanoparticles on soil properties and on its microbial community", specifically on microbial communities. The nanoparticles have been reported to influence microbial population in both ways (negative and positive) depending on the nanoparticles and doses. You can go through the publications at
