The most common sexually transmitted bacterial infections are Chlamydia Trachomatis and N. Gonorrhea. Both are associated with male and female infertility and the main problem that the majority of patients are asymptomatic.  Both can cause major reproductive problems in cases of ascending infection (e.g. orchitis, saplingitis, etc). Both of them, especially C. trachomatis, are also associated with negative impact on infertility treatment and reproductive outcome following assisted conception.
