I am doing ozonation treatment of detergent wastewater. Most of the journals that i found are using MBAS method for the determination of anionic surfactant such as LAS. Is there any specific reasons why must use MBAS method to determine the anionic surfactants? If the wastewater sample is having high level of surfactant content (>100mg/l), is the MBAS method still effective? The specific wavelength (lambda max. of LAS is 225nm). Can i directly use this specific wavelength by UV-Vis spectrophotometer to study the degradation or bathochromic shift effect on the ozonation of anionic surfactant? Thanks.
