Though I have some queries regarding gasification of solid waste.
1. Is there any method to increase hyrogen:CO production inside gasifier and reduce CO2 production? Rather than going to Water-gas shift reaction?
2. Secondly, Can I re-use hydrogen as the fuel for gasifier? You will be faced with maintaining a solid feed bed in the gasifier and adequate material flow in the melt section. For these early calculations assume the lower limits of inert material at 5% and assume a low ash low btu solid feedstock. Dream up the feedstock if you must.
Yes I want to reduce the amount of CO in the syngas. Now at 15 mj/kg we dream of 16% CO2 and 1:1 H2 CO ratios i.e. 42% H2 : 42%CO. Can we reach

Sufficient matter given by Mr Mohan Thampi, In short if you reduced Oxygen, partial oxidation of solid mass can reduce CO2 generation,this will increase hydrogen and CO.This hydrogen can be used as Fuel.

well with a given feedstock you have a fixed molecular ratio of h/c and o/c. With pyrolysis you get most of h and o with the volatiles. If you want to have low carbon output, stay with the volatiles and use the carbon residue otherwise (e.g. for activation, terra petra, char coal) but this leads you to high oxygen amounts in the gas (if you solve the problem with tar and higher hydrocarbons).
Asuming you get nearly equilibrium conditions by thermal and/or catalytic treatment of the volatiles you can use 'oxygen looping' to add or extract oxygen from the gas and you are likely to get a higer hydrogen content and a lower carbon dioxide content.
In 2010 Dr. M. SPECHT reported about 'oxygen looping' and there is a publication form an EU program (Advanced gasification: methanol production from wood), I think from 1984 or 1989 by some Italian researchers, perhaps COGLIATI was involved, but it is quite long ago I rfead it last time.
If you have gasification you might like to trap carbon dioxide and refeed part of the gas to the gasification process, but refeeding the hydrogen only might not help as it raises the partial pressurfe of hydrogen which will decrease the production of hydrogen. I think this answers your second question.
If you want to get hydrogen, you have to get it out to lower the hydrogenn partial pressure within the gasification an a gases like water, methane or other hydrocarbons to get hydrogen as product.
