I am working on 5G New Radio. NR standardizes the concept of slotless transmissions, also known as mini-slot transmission. Mini-slot constitutes scalable numbers of OFDM symbols ranging from 14, 7,4, and 2. Mini-slot is not tied to the frame structure of 5G to maintain the QoS for latency-sensitive applications. However, how mini-slot transmission works, if it does not follow the frame structure? At each time step does the scheduler at eNB transmits only a single mini-slot?
