Metoclopramide respectively is well known causing severe EPS, specially orofacial or dramatically pharyngeal or laryngeal dyskinisias, even tardive dyskinesias have been suspected, I've seen one Patient misdiagnosed for myocardial infarction, vanishing the symptoms with biperidene. In our data of a postmarketing surveillance in switzerland we had several but not many severe EPS side effect that were associated with the substance use of Metoclopramide within 16 years of data record. On the other hand Prochlorperazine didn't shown up as a relevant used substance in this surveill. As both are dopamine antagonists with CNS effects the side effects are almost the same to be expected. We found domperidone as a good alternative for antiemetic treatment with much less and no severe EPS - side effect
