There is a nice example of endemism, and it is about the most expensive and appreciated fungus! Ophiocordyceps sinensis, growing at the Tibetan Plateau above 3000 meters altitude. This fungus (Ascomycota, Hypocreales) is a parasite of several species of ghost moth larvae, and some people even kill to get them! It is supposed to have bioactive compounds, including anti-cancer, anti-fatigue, hypoglycaemic, etc., and is used also as an aphrodisiac in the Chinese tradition. It can be sold for up to US$18,000/Kg.
