is there any difference such as variability of volatile compound or total volatile compound that emitted by organic plant and conventional plant?particularly in case of Diadegma semiclausum and Pluttela xylostella
Plant volatile emitted as a defense against insect herbivors. In general, when a plant is damaged by herbivorous insects, many more volatile s are released. The identity and quantity of the volatile compounds varies with the plant species and the herbivorous insect species. In general released compounds are phenolics, tarpenes, alkaloids and glucosinolates. In chemical farming bitter testing compounds in the leaves are very low which make crop plants to be more susceptible to plant feeders than their natural (organic) counterparts. Therefore, you may expect the differences of volatile release between two groups of cultivated plants. For more details you may consult the following literature.
