Thanks for your reply first of all. We are doing high fidelity modeling and simulation as a teaching staff for drivers, pilots, sea captains etc mostly. Hence we need experimantal data or somehow verified CFD analysis. Our design criteria is usually as such; %10-15 error is allowable. Our tests are(roughly):

1-Acceleration test

2-Stop Inertia

3-Pull-Out

4-Turn Circle

As an example, if a vessel reaches its max speed at 100 second, our model should not be more than 110 sec. Or its stable diamater at full order is 500m, ours should not exceed 550m.

Maneuvering is not my specialty, but this data is typically hard to come by in open literature. This is because it is expensive to acquire and commercially sensitive. (At our institute we also sell ship simulators which rely on this kind of data) So you are stuck with cases that happen to be used in open literature.

There are some models in open literature however, Maybe look at ITTC reports for the results/recommendations of the 'The Maneuvering Committee' for a starting point. This usually refers to a lot of other literature which might be interesting for your case.

But, as I said, Maneuvering is not my specialty, and maybe there is more than I know of. So feel free to contact the experts at our institute (www.marin.nl)

As I said previously I have already done some vessels, which are mostly based on the data from literature.

The ITTC reports are one of my inspirational sources (I'm very glad of meeting someone working there by the way). I will look at it again as you suggested.

I think I will not be able to get better answer to this question considering your position.

In addition to the answer of my colleguea Arjan Lampe I would suggest to google for: Simman workshop and papers related to these workshops. In these workshops manoeuvring measurements, calculations and prediction methods are compared for a containership, tanker and a naval vessel. I'm pretty shure you can find (validated) data this way.

If I had some test data of some ships (turning circle, accelration, zig-zag, pullout,...) I could make an parameter identification.

I need all coefficients (lets say 4DOF, not 6DOF). There are papers for some. Example:

But I need a lot more.

The data you supplied, for which ship are they?
