when the transmitter is on, the data length - in time - tends to be us(or ms) length @ 2.4GHz.
Just for my curiosity,
is there any other applications whose data length - in time - tends to be sub-us(ns) length?
(regardless of the frequency of carrier)
Closest that I can think of is an RFID tag reading, maybe as short as 3 ms, estimated from reading 300 tags a minute mentioned here:

Electrical grid control (national electrical core network) may need a precision/latency below 1ms.
In general the "dt" or time precision depends on the events tracked by the IoT system considered. Furthermore the "dt" can mean time resolution requirement, it can be the irreducible uncertainty on a time measurement = t, or the irreducible uncertainty on the difference between two times t1-t0.

Your question is a bit imprecise. It is difficult to give an answer.
The data length expressed in time units depends on the data volume and transmission speed, and probably you should consider also all protocol headers overhead. The 2.4GHz frequency belongs to the ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) bands and is used by many different wireless transmission technologies. Some of them adapt their transmission speed to the observed radio conditions. Real IoT applications, in general, transmit short data samples and from time to time longer data chunks, (e.g. operation logs).
