Currently, I am working on mouse or rat models' primary culture of liver cells (particularly hepatocytes). In most of the previous research, I found the protocol stressing the perfusion of the liver with a perfusion buffer (rich in collagenase) prior to resection.

Is there any alternate strategy to achieve this (i.e., can perfusion be done on a resected piece of liver)?
