I am trying to investigate the relationship between sugar absorption level and artery wall thickening due to arteriosclerosis.I read that inflammation cause increased level of sugar absorption. Is arteriosclerosis causes any inflammation in artery walls? If happen like this will it cause increased level of sugar absorption in artery wall of patients with arteriosclerosis ?
Can anyone provide answer?

Whilst atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease, it is not proven that atherosclerosis increases sugar absorption in the artery wall as yet. In this view, your study would be original and could bring a new information to the scientific community.

Your question is great. It is known that hemoglobin binds not only FE and O2 but 5 %-to 10 % glucose too, to transport it to the tissues or to the vessel walls.
I showed it and measured significant decrease of the glucose level in the coronary artery circulating bloodcardiolgic solution /after Buckberg / - art. coronary intake and sinus coronarius out-(right atrium) / in the beginnig of the 90-ties in Frankfurt Germany with Prof. Beyerdorf, that during the intermittent cold blood cardioplegia in humans /- it means low flow and low pressure /

We did not measured that time the definitive place where the glucose was absorbed.

The responsible factor of this glusose absoring effect is a kinetic one - well, not really important the locus from this aspect - into the plaques or into the intima or intima flap is responsible a kinetic force + the viscosity of the blood /fluid/ and also the resistence of the wall tissue. - These are turbulent small scale vorticis at the vessel wall - which can wash in the glucose in the ....... layer.??????

As explained in question I am trying to investigate relationship between sugar absorption level in artery walls and chances of arteriosclerosis. Somebody told that due to inflammation in artery walls, metabolism rate in that area also increase and cause increased level of sugar absorption in that area,as what happened in tumorous area.
Actually I am from engineering background and I faced a little difficulty to understand some medical terms. "As arteriosclerosis level increases the glucose absorption level decrease", Is this main content of first reply?
In second reply you explained about glucose absorbing effect.But I didn't get properly. You explained that "glucose absorbing effect is a kinetic one". Would you please explain little detail about this?
Is there any research publication that explains about metabolism rate change in carotid artery walls with arteriosclerosis? If you know, can you please suggest some?
If we can analyse rate of sugar absorption in carotid artery walls with help of any devices, will it help to monitor chances of arteriosclerosis?
I am trying to write a research proposal to start my PhD in this area.
