CIBSE TM59 provides a design methodology for preventing overheating in homes, but uses the same model of adaptive thermal comfort given in CIBSE TM52. TM59 uses overheating criteria which are more suitable for homes, whereas the criteria in TM52 are more suitable for non-domestic buildings.
