Is there a well established method for quantification of RNA per gram plant tissue and what are the problems with such an attempt?

I'm interested in quantifying the total amounts of messenger RNAs and small RNAs present in leaf samples from different nutrient regimes. However I am aware that RNA is not a stable molecule and is prone to degradation. I was wandering if there is a well established method that allows the quantification of RNA per gram plant tissue, that controls for potential losses during extraction and purification?

Hi Emil,

To quantify mRNA and total RNA generally we used qubit. To quantify total RNA you can use bioanalyzer. For purification of mRNA you can use ampure bead purification protocol.
