I know, for example, that you can use a Gaussian distribution in order to model the heterogeneities introduced in the strut diameter of lattice structures. Then, using Timoshenko beams, FE models can account for variations in strut size and diameter. And that´s the way you model the effect of varying struts because otherwise you´ll get a perfect straight beam with constant diameter. But I haven´t found any ways to incorporate the effects of extrusion temperature, printing speed, etc. What I want is a way to generate FE models with "distorsions" caused by the effects of printing parameters without actually printing the part with a subsequent micro CT experiment, which, I know, will incorporate the "defects" in the structure caused by the process of printing.
