I have approximately 400 slides that I need to stain. A colleague in the same lab has another 150 which need the same staining. Is there a way to stain 40-60 a day or are we just looking at a month and a half of IFA staining misery?
If you have access to bulk auto stainers, like in a core facility (check with your microscopy or pathology core), you can get it done for less time and price. One advantage is that the staining will be consistent besides saving you time and money. Not sure what facilities are there at LSU but I am seeing some at: https://sites01.lsu.edu/faculty/postdoctoralsociety/shared-facilities/
The Molecular Immunopathology Core (MIP) seems promising (http://www.cobre.ceidr.lsu.edu/mipchome.html)
If you are working on diagnostic purpose with only one each primary and secondary antibodies with only dilution of primary (no serial dilution) then multispot slides will be very helpful. If you can use 12 samples in a slide then load can be reduced 1/12th. Happy IFAing.
