Hi - I have a Time-lapse recording of 1,000 images with 21 z-stack slices (21,000 images in total). The images has been saved into three tiff format stack files (fills up a stack file until 4 gb, then creates another stack file). Is there a way in ImageJ to open the three stack files as one file where the z-stacks (21 slices) appear as one slider and the frames (1,000 images) as another slider?

If you don't have enough RAM, then open each as a virtual stack (Import, Tiff virtual stack). Then concatenate them all into one stack (Image, Stacks, Tools, Concatenate) which combines separate stacks. After that, use (Image, Hyperstacks, Stack to Hyperstack) to define the dimensions you want to display with sliders.
