I have WIP results in the thousands for my samples (median = 4611, range is 4051-6122 for 63 sand and granite samples) . To check my calculation, I went back to the literature and used published data to calculate published WIP results. Once again, I had results in the thousands (ie 4325) which numerically matched the published results, except the latter was reported in the tens( ie 43.25). This happened with several sets of data that I checked against.
Why is this? Is there a specific value range for the WIP? Do authors drop the multiplier for better comparison to other indices?
Thanks for any help/advice in the matter.
