I want to learn a possible method for measuring GPx activity that uses other catalase inhibitor. I saw that aminotriazole (3-Amino-1,2,4-triazole) is a irreversible catalase inhibitor, however I don't know its application for measuring GPx activity. Any help will be very appreciated.

I ve already done the method that use only GSSG reduced Glut + hidroperoxide+ glutathione redutase + NADPH and phosphate buffer. These analyses were performed in plasma and liver homogenate. It is not demanded sodium azide.

Giuseppe, You can find some information about GPx and GRd measurement in some of articles of our laboratory, we use an spectrophotometric measurement of NADPH consumption. The method was described by Jaskot in 1983. I hope I've helped.
