Hello,
we are planning to run an experiment involving aversive stimuli, some of which may be phobic to some. Therefore, I am looking for a screening self-report tool in the English language that can be digitally implemented, and ideally, is freely available. Ideally, the measure would be relatively simple, include the most common objects/situations, and ask as few questions as possible, as concisely as possible.
Our research question itself is unrelated to phobias - we are not looking to reliably identify people with phobias. Rather, the goal is to exclude potentially at-risk people from our participant pool, meaning false alarms are less of a problem than misses.
Can someone give me a recommendation? WSQ questions 6+7 (Article A Brief Web-Based Screening Questionnaire for Common Mental ...
) look rather intuitive, and appear to have at least okay-ish sensitivity, but as I am not an expert on the topic, I thought I'd ask for advice first. Thanks in advance!
