Quality has existed since the beginning of time. Humans have always sought what best suited their needs. With the Industrial Revolution, the need for standardization became urgent. After the Second World War, Japan created the Deming Prize, the first award focused on Quality, in 1951. Almost 40 years later, the ISO 9000 series of standards and the Malcolm Baldrige Award were created. Today, there are around 100 awards focused on quality in the world.
