I am from Sri Lanka, and we have 80+ dialysis centers in the country. However, the policy regarding resource allocation to them to be still finalized. As human and other resources are directly depend on the bed strength of the center this is the main factor in play.
Sri Lanka has 9 provinces and 25 districts, and many smaller admin divisions, in which the population and the largest city identified.
I need a model that calculated the bed strength of a center depending on the following factors.
1. Population served
2. Distance from main cities
3. Traveling time from main cities
4. Major geographical barriers
Is there a model already in use? If not any data on relative importance of each of the above factors in deciding bed strength?
