In mobile blood donation settings, hemoglobin (hb) levels are regularly measured by invasive or non-invasive capillary hb levels. In contrast, the hemoglobin concentration in such a blood donor differs when controlled in venous blood. Is there any formula, which can be used to make these two different measurements comparable, i.e. can you apply a factor to the venous hemoglobin value to get the capillary one and vice versa? Or at least get into comparable ranges?
