I would like to know if there is a database of photos with insect pollinators on flowers. The insects must be located on flowers of plants. I am interested in pollinators encountered in Europe, mostly from the orders: Diptera, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera. I want to train and test deep learning models on the images, trying to identify/classify each individual insect to a useful taxonomic level (ideally species, but family could do fine as well). For that reason the images should be labeled with the species name.
I looked already on Kaggle and found an interesting dataset there, but the labels mention only the order of the species and not the full scientific name (e.g. should have as label "Apis mellifera" and not just "Hymenoptera").
Hi Valentin, maybe photos from the collaborative website iNaturalist.org can help you to find this kind of photos. The photo are geolocalized and species identification are given by the community. However, I don't know if all these informations (full scientific name...) are in the label? Good luck.

Yes, databases need to be prepared intensively by following a standardized format such as the Darwin Core.
