In my literature review and theoretical understanding of mindfulness so far, I come at a halt when I try and conceptualize mindfulness as its essence aspires it to be and how it is assessed and studied in researches. It is my personal opinion and open to critique, but I find mindfulness being a field in itself and a practice that needs exploration in its own faith, rather than being mingled or understood by other theoretical models as such (e.g within the CBT perspective or within medical model etc). With the advent of so many schools, institutes not only teaching, but researching in this area of mindfulness from a varying dimensions. So far the conceptualizations have been from earlier attention models, cognitive models and so but mindfulness is a theory in itself. It's a perspective, its a process. Is anyone aware of any individual theories of mindfulness in general or any indigenous working model or framework developed in Eastern Countries/Asia?
Hoping for insights!!!
