Leachate contains organic and inorganic pollutants which must be treated to reduce its potential impact on surrounding water supplies. Leachate is dangerous because it seeps through the soil into local waterways where it contaminates drinking water supplies and spreads disease. Medical Literature tells us that some general health conditions caused by consuming leachate contaminated water can range from sweating, bleeding stomach disorders, to blood disorders, congenital disabilities and even cancer.
