Does anyone know if there's a company willing to do all of the following:
- Synthesize a custom gene and clone it into a plasmid
- Transform E. coli with said gene and develop a protein expression protocol for it
- Send the strain along with the expression protocol as the final product
The gene in question is FCB2 from baker's yeast, which was expressed in E. coli before (Chapman et al., Biochem. J., 1989).

I am assuming that you need an E. coli expression host for protein expression. There are a lot of companies from whom you can purchase the E.coli strains made specifically for protein expression. I prefer E.coli BL21 (DE3) for non-toxic product expression because this host is compatible with T7 expression systems. You can purchase these from any reputed brand (https://www.thermofisher.com/order/catalog/product/EC0114#/EC0114 ), but these are quite expensive, it is better if you could borrow some from your colleagues.
