Is the protein (or protein complex) thermostability in tropical species higher than those living in arctic?

Hi,

I am wondering whether the protein/protein complex thermostability in tropical species is higher than those living in the arctic. If it is valid, is there any relevant evolutionary theories?

I noticed that in Chaetomium genus, some species are thermophilic (probably with different optimal growth temperatures) whereas the others are not, is it because of natural selection?
