I am doing a dynamic analysis with Abaqus. The steps of my model is as following:
step1 static Analysis (a stepped shaft inserted in a chuck with different clamping forces)
step2 eigenfrequency analysis
step3 frequency Response analysis
modal based Steady-state dynamic analysis
The impuls force is set to 1N at the tip of the shaft in x direction which is vertical to the shaft's axial direction(Y).
I want to get the plot of frequency Response after putting the Impuls at step3.
But I don't know which Points I should select for my Output.
Instead of choosing of history Output of single Points, I selected the 'Generalized displacement'. This variable seems can only show the Response of the whole model. Then I got the Response plot of Mode 1 to 4.(see below)
Is this plot correct for using as result of the dynamic Analysis?
Or is there other variables I should use for history Output?

First of all, it is important to knowing that what kind of model do you analysis, however, if you are analysis a frame, you can choose one of your column section at base or getting average of all column.
Secondly, you can use acceleration and velocity in your result as well. This kind of results are common in research papers.
Finally, your results are good enough to use.

I'm doing the Simulation with a solid model (see the Picture below).
I don't quite understand what the meaning of "Generalized displacement or acceleration" in Abaqus. I wanna get the Frequency Response of several Messing Points. But in History Outputs of Abaqus I can only get the Generalized displacement or acceleration of the whole model, even when I have selected the history Output of one Point in the Preprocessing.
you can select the whole model as a set. After model analysis you can used field history output ,,,,, then you can get every result for that set.
