I have attached 3 photographs of the wavelength scan performed for silver nanomaterial (not washed or purified) synthesized by varying only the pH while keeping other factors constant. I want to perform Response Surface Methodology for the same, where pH is one of the parameters of our interest. Now as literature studies suggest, a blue shift and red shift in wavelength imply a decrement and increment in size respectively. However, I am curious if along with the wavelength (of SPR), the form of the peak indicates anything about the functional capabilities or features of a nanomaterial. For example, for pH 7, the area under the graph is somewhat equal on both sides with a prominent and deep valley on the left, while for pH 9 and 11, the peaks look somewhat broader and with shallow valleys on the left again. While the SPR for pH 9 and 11 has a blue shift, for pH 7, there is a red shift for pH 7. My ultimate aim is to obtain sound antifungal efficacy from my synthesized nanomaterial, therefore, I am quite confused as to which pH should be set as zero for my RSM input.
