Dear Tobias, I learned a few things on RG. First thing is that the 'popular answers' may NOT always be the useful answers. The people who get into a question (Q) first have a better chance of giving an answer that is voted up by the next person, perhaps out of courtesy and not always based on merit. Useful answers may come later and get buried. Perhaps, the one who asked the Q could take some effort to point out the usefulness of the answer, and draw the attention of Q followers to it.
The second thing is that the RG score depends on whom we interact with and their score; but is this really fair to junior researchers at all? The important thing for me is to use whatever little bits of time I can find to encourage other researchers, by going into their Q's, from time to time, and giving an honest answer. Thanks.
