Is the circular dichroism helpful in the differentiation of two diastereomers? If yes, how can we highlight the difference?

This question is about the mixture of two diastereomers isolated as a single compound.

The CD spectra should be different (if there are chromophoric groups) but in order to understand this difference a computer (DFT) simulation of the corresponding CD spectra is needed. A simple (empirical) analysis might also be possible on the basis of some chiroptical rules if you know a spatial structure of the diastereomers.
